The regular season still has a month left for NFL betting. But it’s never too early to cast our collective gaze toward April, when the Las Vegas Raiders will have a prime pick in the 2026 NFL Draft.

The team at preprod.bookies.com compiled some hypothetical odds on which NCAA prospect the Raiders (2-11) could turn to when the first round kicks off on April 23. Three quarterbacks top our initial odds board.

Who Will Raiders Target in 2026?

Veteran QB Geno Smith has struggled all season in Las Vegas. Smith has thrown for 2,648 yards and has nearly as many interceptions (14) as touchdown passes (16). So it seems likely that Raiders general manager John Spytek (above) will target a signal caller with the team’s first pick.

Given that the Raiders would hold the second overall pick if the draft happened tomorrow, it seems like they’d have their pick of the QB litter for the 2026 NFL Draft.

With that in mind, we’re going with a trio of Heisman Trophy contenders – Indiana’s Fernando Mendoza (+250), Alabama’s Ty Simpson (+275) and Oregon’s Dante Moore (+275) – as our top draft pick contenders in Las Vegas. At DraftKings Sportsbook, Mendoza has -150 odds of being the No. 1 overall pick, as of Dec. 9.

Of the three, Mendoza has put up the best season in QBR, according to ESPN, with a rating of 88.5. Moore (77.4) and Simpson (76.7) are next in line. Simpson has the most passing yards among the trio with 3,268, followed by Mendoza (2,980) and Moore (2,733).

All three have guided their team to the College Football Playoff. Mendoza’s undefeated Hoosiers, the Big Ten champions and the No. 1 CFP seed, have +300 odds to win the national championship at +300 with Caesars Sportsbook. Moore’s Ducks, the No. 5 seed, have +800 odds and Simpson’s Crimson Tide stand at +2000 odds to run the table.

Any of the above would likely represent an improvement over Smith, who has posted the 30th best QBR this season, per ESPN.com, with a figure of 32.4 in 13 games played.

Who Else Could the Raiders Target?

A quarterback is the most likely position that the Raiders will target in the first round of the 2026 NFL Draft, but it’s never smart to rule out a wideout whenever a member of the Davis family is in charge.

That’s why we consider two top college wide receivers, Ohio State’s Carnell Tate and Arizona State’s Jordyn Tyson (+2500 each) in our odds. At top sportsbook apps, Tate’s Buckeyes are the national championship favorite at odds ranging between +220 and +250, even after OSU’s loss to Indiana in the Big Ten Championship Game.

Of the two NCAA wideouts, Tate has more yards and touchdowns, with 838 yards and nine scores on 48 catches. Tyson has more catches, with 61, while compiling 711 receiving yards and eight TDs.

What we know for sure as the NFL season hits its home stretch is that Las Vegas head coach Pete Carroll needs to address the team’s woebegone offense in the draft next spring. The Raiders have the NFL’s second-worst offense (257.2 yards per game) and the worst scoring offense (15.1 points per game).

Little has gone right on that side of the ball for the Raiders, so we anticipate that they’ll address it in the draft. Betting sites will have 2026 NFL Draft props galore as the event gets closer.
