Voting for the 77th annual Primetime Emmy Awards is officially underway, with nominations set to be unveiled on July 15th. Hosted by comedian Nate Bargatze, this year’s ceremony airs live on CBS, streaming on Paramount+, at 8pm EST on Sunday, September 14th.

Among oddsmakers, the current favorite to win the Emmy Award for Best Drama series is Apple TV+’s Severance (+275). Exuding a sharp cinematic style, fans of this mystery-box dystopian workplace drama are hoping for a bounce-back after Season One scored six Primetime Emmy nominations in 2022, but failed to earn a single victory. Meanwhile, medical procedural drama The Pitt (+450) — an HBO Max original streaming series — lands in second place on the oddsboard after its own buzzworthy first season. Meanwhile, HBO series The Last of Us and The White Lotus are tied at +600 to take home what many consider to be the Emmy’s top prize.

As you’ll see below, current betting odds indicate all four shows will be among the big winners when the official Emmy nominations are announced.

A microcosm of the big drama in the Drama series categories, Best Actor is shaping up to be a two-man race between The Pitt’s Noah Wyle (+315) and Severance-star Adam Scott (+325). If Wyle’s nominated, it would be the actor’s sixth Emmy nod. He was recognized five times in the Best Supporting Actor in a Drama category for his role on the long-running series ER — with zero wins. For his part, Adam Scott was nominated in 2022 for his Severence’s role, but he also lost.

Assuming she is recognized, it would be her fifteenth Emmy nomination. Meanwhile, Bella Ramsey (+400) lands second on the odds board for her performance in HBO’s video-game adaptation of The Last of Us, delivering an even more resonant performance as the emotional centre of Season Two.

Assuming the best Supporting Actor and Actress - Drama categories play out as sportsbooks predict, expect a big party at The White Lotus resort this Fall. Oddsmakers have allotted six spots across both categories to the cast of HBO’s dark satire of wealth and privilege set against a tropical backdrop (Thailand in the case of Season Three).

In the Supporting Actor category, Walton Goggins (+250) is favoured for his role as Rick, a curmudgeonly traveller in Thailand on a quest to avenge his father’s mysterious death. By the odds, Goggins is in a virtual dead heat with John Turturro (+275), whose character Irving undergoes a notable transformation as he uncovers more about the world beyond his severed life at Lumon Industries.

As for the Supporting Actress category, where four of five nominations are predicted to go to The White Lotus cast members, Carrie Coon (+275) is favored for her turn as Laurie, a New York City lawyer struggling with her position in life, travelling to Thailand with a pair of high school girlfriends.

Cast-mate Parker Posey (+425) is second on the odds board, playing an outsized role as the matriarch of an ultra-wealthy North Carolina family whose trip is spurred by her daughter’s desire to visit a nearby Buddhist monastery.
