Where Will Kyler Murray Go Next?
Murray’s market changed fast. Arizona informed Murray on March 3 that it plans to release him at the start of the new league year on March 11, barring a last-minute trade, which effectively turns this from a trade story into a free-agency race.
Why Minnesota Makes Sense
The early chatter has centered most heavily on Minnesota, with ESPN’s combine buzz and other recent reporting keeping the Vikings near the top of the list. One thing that’ll help whichever team signs Murray is the fact that the Cardinals are still on the hook for the Heisman winner’s $36.8 million contract for 2026, meaning his next employer will likely be able to pay him the league minimum in 2026.
That salary cap friendly contract could entice the Vikings, Jets and Steelers to dive into the Murray sweepstakes, while also prodding teams with their own QB controversies like the Miami Dolphins (+800) and Atlanta Falcons (+1000) to make a move as well.
